According to data from the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), Spain was in eighth position on the list of world manufacturers in 2015, overtaking Brazil.
In total, in 2015 90 million vehicles were manufactured around the world of which 3%, that is 2,733,201 vehicles are “made in Spain” –as highlighted by the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC).
The ranking was headed once again this year by China, which produced 24,503,326 vehicles with a growth of 3.3%. It was followed by the United States with a total of 12,100,095 vehicles and an increase of 3.8%, and in third place was Japan with a total of 9,278,238 and a decline of 5.1%.
It is worth highlighting that Spain had the fastest growth last year in the top ten world producers, with an increase of 13.7%.
These figures make Spain once again the number two European vehicle manufacturer, behind only Germany. Spain once again came top of the European classification for the manufacture of commercial and industrial vehicles.
